In Eastern Astrology there is a vast field to be explored in regard to Medical Astrology. Most of the writers on Eastern Astrology have left this important topic.
Its my humble attempt with regard to this much ignore field of Eastern Astrology and especially from the point of view of Nakshatras in Eastern Astrology so much has to be explored.
This is my first article on Eastern Nakshatras Astrology with regard to Medical Astrology. Hope it will stir some interest in the minds of Astrologers all over the world and they will do some serious research on this important topic.
Aswini and Diseases
Description In Eastern Astrology Ancient Masters have divided the Zodiac in 27 parts which are calle Nakshatras in Eastern Astrology. First nakshatra which is known as Aswini extends from 0.00 degree to 13.20 degree and is named after the two Acvins (horsemen) of the Hindu Mythology, corresponding to the “ Castor and Pollux” of the Greeks; ‘Al-Sharateen’ (meaning the two tokens) of the Arab Manzil; ‘Leu’ of the Chinese Sieu. There are two stars in the Aswini group to indicate two Aswinis according to ‘Cakalya and Khanda-Kataka’; according to Colebrooke and later authorities, Aswini group consists of 3 stars and resemble to a horse’s face; whereas according to balakrishna Ashwini Nakshatra is defined in Bharateeya Jyotishya as group of three stars.
The month of Ashwija (usually October in the Gregorian System) is named after Ashwini and at the full moon of Ashwija Moon is near Ashwini Nakshatra.
Balakrishna1 writes if a single star has to be identified as representing Ashwini Nakshatra, Best candidate is 13 a Aries / SAO-75151/HD-12929/Hamal.
We should not forget here Richard Hinckley Allen2 who wrote an excellent book on Star Names — Their Lore and Meaning, Allen calls whole of constellation Equuleus (Ref-1,Page213) as Ashwini, perhaps as a literal translation of Ashwini as horse.
Males Health: His health is normally v good. However if the birth is in between 2 degree and 3 degree of Aswini, his health will be poor. He may have migraine headache, and in some cases heart trouble may hit the native as per the sayings of ancient authorities.
Female’s health: Her health is generally good. Main cause of her ailments is unnecessary mental worry and anxiety. In some cases, when such worries are too much then some mild type of brain disorder may take place in the long run. She should be particularly be careful while cooking or in any other situation where fire is used. In the era of this modern society it has been observed by some astrologers that vehicle accidents also hit the native. Frequent convulsions, insomnia and menstrual difficulties have been noticed by noticed by astrological researchers. Especially if Venus is placed in 4th part (10.00 degree to 13.20 degree) of Aswini and Moon aspects, there will be frequent menstrual problems.
Planetary positions of Planets in Aswini Nakshatra and Different Navamsa
Sun
If Sun is in Aswini Nakshatra and aspected by Mars the native will have red eyes.
Sun in First quarter of Aswini or Aries Navamsa of Aries Sign from 0.00 degree to 3.20 degrees. He will have bile and blood connected diseases.
Sun in Second quarter of Aswini or Taurus Navamsa of Aries Sign from 3.20 degree to 6.40 degrees. This native has balarishtha Yoga and it has been observed by Astrologers that in many cases native dies before the 8 years of age. If Moon conjoins Sun here then the bad effects are enhanced.
Sun in Third quarter of Aswini or Gemini Navamsa of Aries Sign from 6.40 degree to 10.00 degrees. Health is normally poor.
Moon
If Moon is in Aswini Nakshatra and Saturn Aspects it then health will be poor according to ancient authorities.
Moon in First quarter of Aswini or Aries Navamsa of Aries Sign from 0.00 degree to 3.20 degrees. Native is afflicted with bilious diseases.
Moon in Third quarter of Aswini or Gemini Navamsa of Aries Sign from 6.40 degree to 10.00 degrees. If Mars aspect Moon in this position, Teeth or Eyes will be effected.
Mars
Mars in Second quarter of Aswini or Taurus Navamsa of Aries Sign from 3.20 degree to 6.40 degrees. It has been written by ancient authorities that Mars in this position gives childlessness and some modern Astrologers have seen some charts having this combination giving childlessness in few cases which need to be further worked on. One more thing which has been observed and written in ancient books is that Son possibility is v remote. However in some cases only females children’s are born is observed…
Mars in Fourth quarter of Aswini or Gemini Navamsa of Aries Sign from 10.00 degree to 13.20 degrees. Afflicted by watery diseases. But what are those diseases is not defined but we have to observe it in the research.
Mercury
Mercury in Third quarter of Aswini or Gemini Navamsa of Aries Sign from 6.40 degree to 10.00 degrees. He has some health problems in spite of this that he has a good and wealthy life.
Jupiter
For Jupiter no disease is mentioned but we should keep it under observation for further studies..
Venus
Venus in First quarter of Aswini or Aries Navamsa of Aries Sign from 0.00 degree to 3.20 degrees. He has a stout body. Short span of life has also been indicated for this position. (This is an imp point for newly born babies should be observed in practical cases.)
Venus in Third quarter of Aswini or Gemini Navamsa of Aries Sign from 6.40 degree to 10.00 degrees. For venus in this navamsa it is indicated that the native may be lame or loose his limb or lose his limb. ( I think this position should be noted in the persons working in factories or metals works especially.)
