Ashwini Nakshatra

For those Born in  Aswini Nakshatra  Natives

Physical features : Male born in Ashwini Nakshatra will have a beautiful countenance. His eyes will be bright and large. Forehead broad and nose a little bigger.

Character and general events: The native may appear to be very calm and quite, but capable of getting his work done un-noticed and is more predominant in the case of native born during the period from April 14th to April 28th, when the sun will be transiting his exaltation place in Ashwini and from October 14th to October 28th, when the sun will be transiting his debilitation place in Svati. There is a saying that even Yama, the God of Death, cannot change his adamant attitude. Those born in the Ashwini of other months will have stubbornness in a lesser degree.

He will remain faithful to those who love him and will not hesitate to sacrifice anything for such persons. Ashwini born is the best friend in need provided others understand him. He keeps his patience even at the time of greatest perils. But it will be a hurricane task to console the native when he goes berserk. He is the best advisor to the persons in agony. But he deeply resents and fears criticism, see suggestions from others, as a frightening attempt at manipulation.

He takes his own time to do any work. Even so, his actions may be slow but well thought. He will not jump upon any matter without examining prose and corns of each item of work. He cannot be easily influenced. Once he carries out an action or work, whether it is good or bad, right or wrong, he will stick to what he has done, come what may.

He is a firm believer of God. But there is no room for religious or other sentiments. He is orthodox but in new style i.e., he believes in modernization of orthodox method and belief.

Even though he is quite intelligent, at times he makes mountain of even small matters. This leads him in a state of lack of mental peace and will always be in desperate mood. He is always interested in keeping the entire surroundings neat and clean.

Education and sources of earnings / profession: He is jack of all arts. He is generally fond of music and interested in literary pursuits. Period up to his 30th years of age will be full of struggle. He has to face obstacles even for small matters. From the 30th year of age, there will be steady and continuous progress which will continue up to 55 years of age.

One of the predominant features noticed is that he is very stingy, but his expenditure will be more than his income due mainly to his pomp and show. He is inclined to meet his desires and needs at any cost.

Family life: He loves his family in entire sincerity. However, he is subjected to hatred by his own family members due to his adamant behavior. Affection that was expected and the care that was required cannot be derived from the father of the native. In other words, the natives as also his co-borns will be neglected by their father. Whatever help he may derive is only from the side of his maternal uncle. Maximum possible help will come from those who are outside the family circle.

Normally marriage takes place between 26 to 30 years of age. There will be more sons than daughters.

Female Natives

Females born in this Nakshatra will have more or less the same general results as mentioned in the case of male natives. In addition, she will have the following results:

Physical features: Eyes will bright and small resemble to that of a fish. She has a magnetic look.

Character and general events: She has the technique of bringing anybody near to her with her sweet speech. She maintains utmost patience. She indulges in too many sexual operations. She is pure hearted. Even while living in the modern society she maintains the age old tradition of respecting elders.

Education, sources of earning / profession: If employed she may either be not interested in the work after 50 years of age and may quit the job or seek voluntary retirement. It is not a negative point. She may do so, as her financial or other conditions would have improved by her 50th years of age, and she no longer requires any work for her livelihood. She will thereafter devote herself to the welfare of the family and to some extent do social work, provided other planetary positions are not adverse. Administrative type of job  is earmarked for her.

Family life: Normally marriage takes place between the periods of 23 years to 26 years of age. It has been noticed that in case marriage takes place at a young age i.e., before the age of 23 years, such marriage ends either at divorce, separation from the husband for long time or even death of the husband.

There will be more female children than male children. She is quick to respond to the needs and desires of her children to pursue the interest of the children. Whenever time permits, these females do cleaning of the house and household articles and they force others to do the same.

Health: Her health will generally be good. Main cause of her ailments is unnecessary mental worry and anxiety. In some cases, when such worry or anxiety goes beyond control, it has been noticed that brain disorder of mild type takes place at a later stage. She should always be careful while cooking or while handling fire. In the modern society, motor vehicle accidents have also been noticed.

              Astrology First House Key words

I have expanded on this article from many more sources and will be adding up more info in it as times permits. So it is not not complete yet but much more has to be added to it.

According to Western Astrology following are the keywords for the first house…..

The 1st house affects the appearance and the personality, as it is perceived by the outside world. These are the keywords for first house.

The First House is about identity and how other’s see you. This house also rules the personality, attitude, how you see the world, how you look, appearances, your worldly outlook, and self-awareness and how you respond. It describes how you see yourself and how others see you. It can also describe your physical appearance. What is Astrology Part 1

What is Astrology

Astrology, the Science of the Stars

Astrology literally means “the Science of the Stars”, from the Greek astrologia: astron (constellation; star) and logia (study of; ordering principle; utterance). It contains both the idea of an organised body of knowledge of the cosmos, along with the way the stars “speak” to us, or give meaning to our lives [see Is Astrology Scientific]. A person who practices astrology is called an astrologer. A very ancient, but still vital discipline, from the most earlier civilisations we see that ppl believed that the planets, stars and other celestial phenomena like Eclipses and comets have an influence on our lives.

Astrology and astronomy have in modern times become separate studies, though for most of human history they were two sides of the same coin. We see that great astronomers like Tycho Brahae, Johanes Kepler and Geleleo also used Astrology for predicting influential ppl lives and also for weather predictions. For details you can read my articles on all three of them. Beside them we see a long line of Muslim scholars who were both Astrologer and Astronomer. I be writing about them in details in future.

Exploring ourselves, our relationships and our place within the world, astrology has found that the symbolic relationships between the heavenly bodies are significant, and can be seen as a map to human destiny. This is also expressed in the hermetic maxim: As Above, So Below.

Astrology can give us insight into all manner of situations, from the personal to the political and from the most intimate to the most mundane. Because astrologers generally take a holistic view of the world, we can see that there is a spiritual connection between all things, even the planets, stars and us.

To find the actual cosmic influences on events, character, and relationships, an astrologer first draw up a chart, or horoscope based on your Time of Birth, Date of birth and Place of birth.

He uses this horoscope filled with symbols of signs and planets position on the earth, this symbolic map of the heavens is like a snapshot of the cosmic influences at work on that specific place at that particular moment in time. These influences will be expressed in whatever person or event is being born right there and then. The astrologer’s job is to interpret the meaning of the symbols in the chart and to place these influences in an appropriate context, with relation to its subject based on the observations of thousands of years by many generations of astrologers all over the world. Mythology of Rahu and Ketu

Still to this day many Hindus believe that the mythological demons Rahu and Ketu cause solar eclipses?

In Hindu mythology there is a wonderful story that describes how the gods and the demons once formed an alliance to produce a nectar that could give them immortality. This is the story of the churning of the milk-ocean and the descent of Lord Visnu as the Kurma avatara, the divine tortoise. When the nectar that was churned from this ocean was being served to the gods, a demon, disguised as a god, sat between the Sun and the Moon in an attempt to procure the nectar. When he was detected by the Sun and the Moon, Lord Visnu immediately severed his head from his body. Unfortunately, it was not fast enough, for the demon had already tasted a small quantity of the nectar and had become immortal. Ever since, this demon is said to wreak vengeance on the Sun and Moon whenever they come near. The head of this great demon is known as Rahu and his tail is known as Ketu.

Rahu and Ketu Mythology

In Hindu astrology Rahu and Ketu are known as two invisible planets. They are enemies of the Sun and the Moon, who at certain times of the year (during conjunction or opposition) swallow the Sun or the Moon causing either a solar or a lunar eclipse. In Sanskrit this is known as grahanam or seizing.

What perhaps sounds like a childish story is a powerful metaphor for what actually happens when an eclipse takes place. Rahu and Ketu are the astronomical points in the sky respectively called the north and south lunar nodes.

To the observer on earth, the paths of the sun and the moon appear to be two great circles projected on the celestial sphere (see the diagram). The sun’s path, the solar ecliptic, makes a complete revolution in one year. At the same time, the moon’s circular path is completed in about one month. Every month the moon will overtake the sun which moves more slowly. This is called new moon or in Sanskrit, amavasya. Usually the moon’s path passes above or below the sun’s path and no eclipse occurs. But, periodically the moon overtakes the sun at the place where their paths intersect. This causes the sun or the moon to be hidden from the earth’s view and is thus called a solar or lunar eclipse. These places of intersection are the north and south lunar nodes, or as they are referred to in Hindu mythology, Rahu and Ketu. Therefore, in the symbolic language of mythology, Rahu and Ketu are said to “swallow up” the Sun and the Moon. The ancient Hindu observers of the sky were aware of the cause of the solar and lunar eclipses and so described the process in the language of metaphor.

Ketu significations in Jyotish

In Indian Astrology besides the classical seven Planets two Nodes of Moon known as Rahu an Ketu are also considered very important.

In Western Astrology they are sometimes called Moon Nodes or specifically Moon North Node and Moon South Node. Some Astrologers like to call them Dragons Head and Dragons Tail, still some call them Caputs head and Caputs tail.

In Arabic and Persian Astrology they are called Raas and Zanb.

In Jyotish Moon Nodes are given a lot of importance and lot of Astrological combinations are written about them an they are even used in the famous system of Dasas to time the important events in ones life.

Western Astrology has not given them the exact importance as they deserve, whereas on the other hand in Jyotish no Astrological reading is complete without them.

While during my journey in Astrology i learnt a lot about them an experimented a lot with them in my readings but one thing which i note was that a very little literature is available on the significance of them on net an even books written on Jyotish and western Astrology. So to fulfil this gap i have written some of the significances of Ketu or Dragon Tail or Caputs Tail or Zanb, with the hope that it will show the astrologers how vast are its results explored in Jyotish Ancient Literature.

So much more can be written on these two Nodes of Moon but i will keep them for further pages to be written in future.
